They also drop down swiftly when departing to quickly build up flight speed. To accommodate these natural behaviors, this nest box features an entrance located on the underside, close to the mounting surface. A small grip ladder beneath the entrance offers secure footing for birds as they land. </p> <p>Since swifts are colonial nesters, it’s advisable to install multiple boxes on different sides of a building. This accounts for the varying preferences individual swifts have for approach angles and nest orientation. </p>
